If you tend to overthink, you have probably heard advice like:

“Just stop thinking about it.”

“Let it go.”

“Try to relax.”

Most of the time, that advice does not help.

This guide was created for those moments when your mind keeps engaging with a thought longer than it needs to. Inside you will find a series of short Notes. Each Note offers simple responses when overthinking starts taking up more space than it should. Simple enough so our minds do not have to overthink what to do.

These responses are organized into the LESS Overthinking Response Model.

LESS stands for:

  • Lower the mental load
  • Ease the urgency
  • Stop the build-up
  • Set the boundary

The goal is not to stop thinking completely. The goal is to help you respond when thinking starts taking up more space than it needs.
